Mental Reset: Day 3



Today’s focus is all about meditation! Mediation is a mental skills technique that can be used for athletes to assist in becoming more self-aware and enhance performance. The main key is for the athlete to feel connected to the practice and that it fits for them!


So, what are the benefits of meditation? Some include:


*Enchanced confidence

*Decreased worry and anxiety

*Assistance with stress management

*Provides help remaining present

*Boosts awareness

*Improved focus and concentration

….and so much more!!


As an athlete, you can see how this could assist in your performance!


Where to begin?


Start small. Aim for 5 minutes a day when you don’t feel rushed or pressured. Use an app or guided meditation to help you start the practice.


Allow yourself the opportunity to be patient. Some days it might be easy and others might be a struggle, but both are help you become an aware, mindful athlete!!
