Mental Prep for Race Day



Your mental checklist the night before race day is just as important as getting your physical checklist prepared!


Don’t know where to start? Try these tips!


🗣Focus on confidence! You’ve put in endless hours of training. You’ve logged miles. Experienced ups and downs. You’re prepared! Trust in yourself and your training. Race day is your day to have fun!!


🗣Visualize yourself when you cross the finish line! Envision yourself smiling, strong, chest up, shoulders relaxed and PROUD of yourself as you cross that line!


🗣Acknowledge any negative thoughts or worries that creep into your mince, but LET THEM GO! Have a nonjudgmental response to these thoughts and kick them to the curb!


🗣 Stick to your routine! Whatever is your norm prior to training runs should be your norm prior to the start of the race. Own it and stay comfortable!


🗣 Have fun! This is your victory lap! Enjoy it! Embrace it! Smiling and laughing go a long way!
